Peter Brooksbank – Chairman

Peter Brooksbank has been Chairman of the Board of Directors for Pacific Urethanes since its founding in 2008 and has over 55 of experience in manufacturing industry.

He began his career with ICI Australia (now Orica Ltd), working in operations research, paints, fibres, industrial explosives, plastics and polyurethanes both in Australia and the UK.

In 1994, Mr.Brooksbank became Commercial Director of Huntsman Chemical Australia, a global chemicals company. In 1996, he was appointed the Australian Managing Director of Antah Holdings, Malaysia. In 1999, he became a shareholder and Managing Director of Marplex, an engineering polymers company, ultimately sold in 2004 to Orica. He is currently Deputy Chairman of Price Plastics Pty. Ltd.

He also served on the board of PACIA (now Chemistry Australia) for many years.

Jim Hall - Board Member, Pacific Urethanes

Jim Hall

Jim Hall has served as a Director of Pacific Urethanes since 2008 and has over 50 years of experience in the chemical and plastics industry.

Mr.Hall served at the general management level for 15 years with BASF including responsibility for the polyurethanes business. He was appointed a director of BASF Australia in 1991. In 2003, he became a shareholder and Company Director of Marplex, an engineering polymers company.

Mr.Hall leads the communication committee of the Australian Modern Building Alliance (AMBA), established to represent the use of polyurethanes in the Australian construction industry. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI). He is also a member of the Melbourne University Business School Alumni.

Gerard Murray - Board Member, Pacific Urethanes

Gerard Murray

Gerard Murray has served as a Director of Pacific Urethanes since 2008 and has over 50 years of experience in the polyurethane industry.

From 1970 unto 1980, he was involved in conducting research work at the Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) UK, Polyurethanes Department.  In 1980, he served as Chief Chemist at a Polyurethanes Systems House in Melbourne. He became the company’s Technical Director in 1982, and subsequently progressed to become the Export Manager, General Manager and eventually the CEO.

Mr.Murray is currently developing a range of passive fire protection products with special organisations in the defence and civil industries.

He is a member and associate of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) and has served as a Chartered Chemist since 1984. In addition, he is an active committee member of Standards Australia (SA), developing and updating Australian standards relevant to the polyurethane industry.

Mr. Stam has served as the Technical Director of Pacific Urethanes since 2018 and has over 20 years of experience in the polyurethane industry.

As Technical Director, he focused on his passion for developing customised polyurethane technology solutions. In his role as Managing Director of Pacific Urethanes, he consistently grew the company to the third largest systems house in Australia.

Mr.Stam started his career in the laboratory, formulating a large range of polyurethane technologies from rigid and flexible foams to various coatings, adhesive and elastomer (CASE) products. His expertise lies in the research and development of sustainable polyurethane products, and he leads many projects that introduce sustainable options to the polyurethane market.

Mr.Stam is on the technical committee of the Australian Modern Building Alliance (AMBA), whose aim is to grow the use of polymers in the Australian construction industry.
