Advanced Manufacturing Applications

Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) is a highly versatile polymer, formulated by combining isocyanate and polyol resin. These react and expand over 30 times their original volume. The ability to mix the ratios of these chemicals, plus the addition of catalysts, is what makes polyurethane so versatile.

SPF self-adheres to most building materials and forms a continuous blanket of insulation that bridges gaps and cracks, without the need for fasteners which can act as thermal bridges. Unlike fiberglass (FG) batts, SPF is durable, does not degrade over time, and can be used to insulate new buildings or to retrofit existing buildings.

Because SPF is applied by spraying, it will conform to the shape of the substrate, allowing large areas of complex shapes to be insulated quickly. Due to its light weight, it has little design impact on existing structural elements, while structurally strengthening the substrate.

Effective waterproofing of building ceilings, floors and walls extends the lifespan by preventing water leaks and eliminating the risk of condensation that can cause fungus, mould, damaged interiors and floors, that weaken the building structure. Due to its light weight, polyurethane waterproofing solutions have little design impact on existing structural elements, while strengthening the building structure.

Polyurethane waterproofing systems can be applied in-situ and forms a homogeneous membrane that conforms to the shape it is applied to. It adheres to most building materials and forms a continuous blanket that bridges gaps and cracks. It excellent adhesive properties allows it to adheres even to porous substrates, such as concrete. It allows the protection of gutters and eaves, completely sealing the existing gaps and joints.
